The Jackman Workbench, made entirely from pallet wood! This workbench base is made using some oversized pallet runners for the legs and regular pallet runner for the skirt boards. The top and bench vise are made from laminating a wide variety of pallet slats. In the plans, I also discuss how this same design could be modified to be made from construction lumber if you can’t get your hands on the pallet material.

The top surface is 40″ deep and 36″ wide, the maximum usable length you can get out of a typical 40″ pallet slat. I made the workbench 34″ inches tall to match the height of my table saw since this does double duty as an outfeed table, but the height can be easily modified to match your table saw as well by just adjusting the height of the legs.

I personally have a pair of these in my shop, one with the bench vise and one without it, the plans give you the option to add this to your bench if you would like or you can just leave it as a plain workbench. For the clamping mechanism I used pipe clamps, these are very strong, cheap, and easy to source, so they make for a great solution.

The entire plan is included in a single PDF document each for the base unit and the upper unit. It is likely that you have a PDF reader installed on your computer already, but if you have trouble opening the file you can use the free program Adobe Reader to view the plans (available here).
