Description

Skateboards made from pallet wood! These are skateboard decks laminated from pallet wood veneers crafted from pallet slats by yours truly. They are shaped through bent lamination of the pallet wood veneers using a vacuum bag and foam form. Each board is a unique variation of different wood species, primarily hardwoods including oak, maple, birch, poplar, cherry, beech, mahogany, and many others. I even included some dyed maple veneers in some of the boards to give a little pop of color. Read the description below to figure out which board is your favorite! Details of the build process can be watched here: https://youtu.be/y7Oq3MkShiE

These were originally built simply to be visual art pieces, but you can even see one of the boards being tested to it’s full extents in the video linked above.

Board 1

This one I’m calling the “Jackman Special”, the bottom is a striped combination of a bunch of different pallet pieces which resembles many of my pallet wood lamination projects. The rest of the veneers in the skateboard deck are the standard 3 or 4 piece sheets like the other skateboard decks. The bottom is a combination of poplar, white oak, red oak, cherry, birch, beech, maple, and a few other species.

Board 2

This deck is has a symmetrical bottom of red oak on either side. The rest of the board is a combination of random species of pallet wood.

Board 3

The bottom of this deck is made up of red oak, maple, and poplar (my best guess). The remainder of the veneers alternate between pallet wood and dyed orange maple with alternating layers.
